• Sapporo–Noboribetsu about 2 hours for a day of onsen
• Sapporo–Furano/Biei about 2.5–3 hours each way; this route eats most of the 10-hour allowance, so plan it early

Luggage

The Coaster has a dedicated luggage hold, so suitcases never cost you a seat. With full luggage the comfortable capacity is 14 passengers; all 20 seats work for day movements without large cases — campus visits or hops between venues.

Before you book

• Time beyond the 10 hours is billed per extra hour; Japanese rules cap a driver's working hours, and long Hokkaido routes use them up quickly
• Winter slows everything down — allow extra time for snow and icy roads
