Two Ways to Prepare: in Indonesia or Directly in Japan
There are two official routes to Gijinkoku, and we guide you on both. The difference is where you study, and that shapes your chances of being hired.
Study in Indonesia
Language and career preparation from Indonesia
- Japanese preparation to the level employers ask for, usually N2
- Document screening and a first interview with the Nakamura team
- Job matching and interviews with Japanese companies from Indonesia
- Fly out directly on a Gijinkoku visa once your CoE is issued
Best for: Anyone who already holds N2 and relevant work experience.
Study Directly in Japan
Language training and work preparation at a Japanese language school
- Go on a student visa to the Japanese language school you choose
- N2 usually comes sooner, because you study and live in Japanese every day
- Work training at school: career guidance, business Japanese and interview practice
- Join shūkatsu (Japan's recruiting season) and job fairs for international students
- Face-to-face interviews, then a switch to the Gijinkoku visa without going home first
No D3 or bachelor's degree? Graduates of a vocational school (senmon gakko) or university in Japan can apply for a Gijinkoku visa, or another work visa, for work that matches their major.
