We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email, WhatsApp number, date of birth, education, and the programs you are interested in when you submit a registration or contact form.

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, guide you through our programs, prepare applications and documents, and communicate relevant updates.
Data Sharing
We only share your data with partner schools, employers, or authorities when necessary to process your application, and with your knowledge. We do not sell your personal data.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the email listed on our website.
The Nihongo Journey Learning App
Nihongo Journey (at /journey) requires you to sign in with a Google account. Sign-in is handled by Supabase, and we receive your Google account identifier and email address. We do not take your name or profile photo from Google.
What the Learning App Stores
The nickname and avatar you choose inside the game, a photo only if you choose to upload one (we keep a small square, reduced copy — never the original file — and details such as location are stripped), and your learning record: XP, level, streak, JLPT stage, missions completed and their scores, the state of your review cards, the vocabulary and kanji you have learnt, badges, roughly the last 60 days of activity, your Placement Test results (the score of each part, not the questions), and your app settings. This is kept on your device and synced to your account. It is processed on third-party cloud infrastructure (Supabase) and may be processed outside Indonesia.
What Other People Can See in the App
The ranking shows only your nickname, avatar, level, XP, streak and JLPT stage. Your photo, your email address and your Google name are never shown to other learners. Nakamura Study Japan teachers can see a student's full learning record, including a photo they chose to upload, in order to teach them. Students cannot see each other's learning records.
Deleting Your Learning Data
You can remove your photo yourself at any time: in the app, open Profile, tap your avatar and choose “Remove photo”. To have your whole learning record, nickname and photo deleted, or the link to the Google account you signed in with removed, contact us using the details on this website and we will delete them.
Children
If you are under 18, please use the app with a parent or guardian’s permission. A parent or guardian who contacts us may have their child’s account data deleted.
Advertising and Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel on the public website to understand page views and interactions such as scrolling, button clicks and link clicks. Google and Meta may use cookies and similar technologies to measure visits, ad attribution and WhatsApp handoff clicks. A WhatsApp click does not confirm that a message was sent. We do not send form contents or activity in the learning app (/journey) or employer portal (/job-connector) to Google Analytics or Meta. Automatic form-data matching in Meta Pixel is disabled. We do not display ads or sell personal data.

Audio Practice and Question Reports
Listen & Repeat does not record your voice or request microphone access. Model audio may use browser speech synthesis; the voice provider depends on your device and browser. The app does not call paid AI APIs or automatically score pronunciation. If you choose to report a question, its reference and the note you write go to a WhatsApp draft for you to review and send yourself. Selected answers, scores and account identity are not attached automatically.
