Tokyo Galaxy Japanese Language School
Founded in April 1986 in Shinkawa, Chuo-ku — a quiet business district in central Tokyo near Nihonbashi and Ginza — Tokyo Galaxy Japanese Language School is recognised under Japan's School Education Act, with its university-preparatory course designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
Its comprehensive Japanese course is split into 11 ability-based levels, from beginner to advanced, alongside dedicated tracks for university admission, graduate school preparation, and business Japanese. Intakes open in January, April, July and October, with programs from 3 months to 2 years depending on visa status. Students come from Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and as far as Europe and the US.

Kyoto Minsai Japanese Language School
Kyoto Minsai is an accredited Japanese language school (認定日本語教育機関) operating since 2001, with four campuses across Kyoto City — three for long-term students and one for short-term students. Its name, "Minsai," means cross-cultural interaction, and classes are capped at 20 students with a deliberately balanced nationality mix drawn from around 50 countries. Its programs range from the Long-Term Course (up to 2 years) to an Academic/University Preparation Track (1 year up to 2 years, with several duration options), a Career/Business Track (up to 1 year), and a Short-Term Course (up to 3 months) for students who want a shorter first taste of studying in Japan.
First Study Japanese Language School
First Study Japanese Language School sits in Tamatsukuri, Chuo Ward, Osaka. Founded in 2001, the school takes in international students preparing for further study or work in Japan. Its Regular Program runs on two intakes: April (1-2 years, minimum JLPT N5 or 150 study hours) and October (1 year 6 months, minimum JLPT N3 or N4 at registration). The school also offers the Mainichi Shimbun Newspaper Scholarship Program, a 2-year April-intake course requiring at least JLPT N4.
Shizuoka International Language School
Founded in October 1989 in Fukuroi, between Shizuoka and Hamamatsu, the school has more than 30 years of experience teaching Japanese. Morning and afternoon sessions run on a two-shift system, and students come from a mix of Asian countries — a small, quiet town rather than a big city. The 2-year program (1,600 hours) targets JLPT N3 and above, with extra guidance toward N2 for students planning to continue to university. The school accepts applicants from N5 level, with April and October intakes and dormitory support for students from out of town.
