AFC International Academy
AFC International Academy (AFC国際学院) is in Suruga Ward, Shizuoka City — a Shinkansen stop about an hour from Tokyo and Nagoya, and 1.5 hours from Kyoto. Opened in April 2023 by AFC-HD AMS Life Science Co., Ltd., its building houses classrooms and a dormitory together, so international students live right where they study.
Two further-study programs are offered: an 18-month course (October intake, 1,200 hours) building toward JLPT N2 and leading to university or vocational school, and a 2-year course (April intake, 1,600 hours) building toward JLPT N1 and leading to university or graduate school. In October 2025, the Nagoya Regional Immigration Services Bureau designated the school an "Appropriate School (Class II)."

AFC International Academy's campus is in the Magarikane area of Suruga Ward, about a 5-minute walk from Kasugacho Station on the Shizuoka Railway's Shizuoka-Shimizu Line, and about 10 minutes by bus from JR Shizuoka Station.

Canaan Tokyo Japanese Language School
Canaan Tokyo's campus is in Kameido, Tokyo, and was established in 2022 as part of the Canaan Group. Classes are small and dialogue-based, with an international student body — since the class is multinational, Japanese is the only shared language of instruction. The school offers an Overseas Students Course for those heading to university or vocational school, a General Japanese Course for residents of Japan, and a Short Term Course for brief study stays. Intake runs four times a year (April, July, October, January), with instructors experienced in guiding students through university entrance preparation.
Kyoto Minsai Japanese Language School
Kyoto Minsai is an accredited Japanese language school (認定日本語教育機関) operating since 2001, with four campuses across Kyoto City — three for long-term students and one for short-term students. Its name, "Minsai," means cross-cultural interaction, and classes are capped at 20 students with a deliberately balanced nationality mix drawn from around 50 countries. Its programs range from the Long-Term Course (up to 2 years) to an Academic/University Preparation Track (1 year up to 2 years, with several duration options), a Career/Business Track (up to 1 year), and a Short-Term Course (up to 3 months) for students who want a shorter first taste of studying in Japan.
First Study Japanese Language School
First Study Japanese Language School sits in Tamatsukuri, Chuo Ward, Osaka. Founded in 2001, the school takes in international students preparing for further study or work in Japan. Its Regular Program runs on two intakes: April (1-2 years, minimum JLPT N5 or 150 study hours) and October (1 year 6 months, minimum JLPT N3 or N4 at registration). The school also offers the Mainichi Shimbun Newspaper Scholarship Program, a 2-year April-intake course requiring at least JLPT N4.
