Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS)
Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS) is a private university in Kyoto that traces back to a trade school founded in 1925, became a university in 1969, and was renamed KUAS in 2019. About 3,600 students study across five faculties — Engineering, Bioenvironmental Sciences, Economics and Business Administration, Humanities, and Health and Medical Sciences — spread over two campuses, Uzumasa and Kameoka.
Three bachelor's programs are taught entirely in English — Engineering, Bioenvironmental Sciences, and Business Administration (Global Business and Economics) — each a 4-year degree, with a single September intake and no JLPT requirement. Graduates earn a bachelor's degree and are ready for careers at global or Japanese companies.

Kyoto & Kameoka
KUAS's main campus, Uzumasa, sits in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto — a district known for the Toei film studio and close to the historic temples of western Kyoto. The Engineering and Business Administration (Global Business and Economics) programs are based here. The second campus, Kameoka, lies further west and hosts the Bioenvironmental Sciences program amid quieter farmland; a shuttle bus connects the two campuses.
