Fukuoka Foreign Language College
FFLC (Fukuoka Foreign Language College) is a vocational college (senmon gakko) in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka, that enrolls around 450 international students every year from more than 30 countries. It is registered under MEXT's higher-education support system and certified to the Ministry of Justice's standards for Japanese language institutions.
The Japanese Language Department runs 1, 1.5, or 2 years and asks for at least JLPT N5; the main intake is April, with an additional October intake only for the 1.5-year track. Graduates can move into the third year of a university or start job hunting. The International Business and International Hotel departments (2 years each, April intake) require at least JLPT N2 or one year already studying at FFLC, alongside the International Cultural Department (1 or 2 years) and the English Department (2 years).
