A Checklist before Paying a Japan Study or Work Agency

A convincing explanation should be something you can check in writing. Use this checklist with every provider, including Nakamura Study Japan, before paying or handing over important documents.
Identify the destination and parties
- Request the destination school or company's official name and the specific programme or position.
- Compare the information with the destination's official website. Ask for written clarification of discrepancies.
- Establish who signs the agreement, receives payment and handles complaints.
Examine the costs
Request a breakdown of service charges, third-party fees, exclusions, payment dates and receipts. Understand the currency and transfer costs. Two package prices are not comparable if they include different services.
Ask what happens if you withdraw, the school or employer declines your application, or immigration permission is refused. Request deduction amounts, refund deadlines and the evidence used to justify deductions.
Separate assistance from decisions
Document assistance is not authority to issue a visa. Interview preparation is not an employer's hiring decision. Ask what the provider does, what you must do and which decisions belong to others.
For any promised outcome, ask for the conditions and remedy in the agreement. Do not rely on verbal conversations for matters that determine payment.
Keep records before proceeding
Save the agreement version, fee breakdown, payment evidence and important correspondence. Do not sign blank forms or documents you do not understand. Take time to read them and discuss them with your family.
Bring this checklist and your budget plan to a consultation. The goal is a decision you understand and can support with records.
