The caregiving industry in Japan, known as kaigo, plays a crucial role in supporting the country’s rapidly aging population. With one of the world’s highest life expectancies, Japan is facing an increasing demand for professional caregivers to assist elderly citizens in their daily lives.
Working in Japan’s caregiving industry offers a stable career with salaries ranging from 170,000 to 200,000 yen per month, excluding overtime and night shift allowances. Although living costs vary by region, many caregivers can save a significant portion of their income every month.
Caregiving is highly respected in Japan.
